Novel's Review : "Fangirl" by Rainbow Rowell

Hello everyone around the worldeven not everyone sees thishow is it going? Good or bad it's doesn't matter, because everyone are happy in any way they want to choose. So...I'm glad I'm back again writing a new blog for my readers. This blog will be talk about my novel's review called Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell. There's nothing further do...Happy reading!

Fangirl is a story of two twin sisters, Wren and Cath, who have grown up without a mother and with a very busy father. Cath is an introvert and very happy person to live in her own internet and book world, but Wren is the opposite one. She admires and loves her sister, who also plays the role of her best friend. Their life together was all rainbow and sun until some day they have to come out of their comfort zone because they move in to college. Fangirl has a lot point of view about Cath, the plot was telling us about her journey to fight her anxiety in new situations like meet new people in college. But in the middle of the stories there's a man who admires to Cath his name is Levi.

The story was start from Cath come to college and got new roommate called Reagan. Reagen is a girl with red hair and cigarettes on her arms when they first meet. From that moment Cath already didn't liked her. Cath has a huge problem with her anxiety and kinda won't to move from her comfort zone. Previously, her twin, Wren had an agreement with her to become roommate but Wren deny it because she had eighteen years live together with Cath, then now she want to meet new people and explore her college student experiences. In Cath's first and second week into college, she still didn't have new friend or someone to talk to. Even she has Reagan as roommate, she still won't to be friend with her because her boyfriend Levi is always come in to their room, that makes Cath uncomfortable.

Cath's mind was very complicated, she was always worried about anything that she couldn't found the answer if she just stayed and hid in her room. For example, In new situations, all the trickiest rules are the ones nobody bother to explain you—and the ones you can't google—like, when you going to the dining hall, it's gonna be...Where am I supposed to stand, then where am I supposed to sit? Where should I go when I'm done, and why is everyone watching me?...yeah that's all about her anxiety.
The titled called Fangirl because in the story Cath was a fangirl to Simon Snow. If I may tell you, Cath is a geeky and nerd person who loves spend her time writing her fan-fiction stories about Simon Snow. Even Cath made Simon Snow an object for a course assignment written at her college. But it turns out that it actually makes things worse for Cath because her professor thinks Cath is plagiarizing the original book and only changing the role of each character. Although Cath is very quiet and shy, but regarding her fanfic story she will be very adamant. So, she is against her professor and firmly believes that her fanfic story is not plagiarism.

Not until there, the professor asked one of her student named Nick to form a group with Cath. The purpose is for Nick to help improve Cath's story. From there, Cath and Nick got to know each other and they became friends and often spent time together with the excuse of discussing lecture material. On the other hand, regarding Levi and Reagan, they felt that there was something odd about Cath who was usually always hid in her room, but now Cath was spending more time in the dining hall with someone. When Cath came back from outside she saw Levi lying on her bed and across from him there was Reagan smoking. Cath just stared at Levi lazily but Levi didn't notice the stare that told him to leave. Levi then asks Cath about who Nick is and why Cath is close to her. Cath was confused why Levi was curious about things that had nothing to do with him, then Cath only answered "Just Friend".

One day, while in Cath's room, Cath, Reagan and Levi were busy with some of their activities. When Cath was preparing to leave her room, Levi who saw it immediately grabbed Cath's hand and asked "Where are you going at this time? It's already midnight!". Cath replied that she was going to the library for study with Nick. Hearing that Levi looked surprised and he immediately stood up and wearing his jacket, said that he would accompany Cath to the library because of the danger if women walking in the dark. At first Cath refused but Levi was very adamant and finally Cath was accompanied by Levi.

But strangely, it keeps happening every time Cath will study with Nick. Levi always accompanies and meets Cath when she finished studying with Nick for no apparent reason why he does that. Until finally, Cath's roommate, Reagan, opened his mouth and said that Levi likes him. Cath was very surprised to hear her words because all Cath knew Reagan and Levi were lovers. But this was denied by Reagan that Levi was just a little friend nothing more.

Long story short, there is an incident that makes them confess their feelings for each other. Yes, Cath has the same feelings as Levi because she just realized that Levi is always there when Cath needs him. Even when Cath's father was in the hospital, it was Levi who accompanied Cath in the hospital, when his biological mother who had left and then came back, Levi helped Cath to make peace with the past. It was enough to make Cath comfortable around Levi.

At the end of the story, this novel provides a satisfying ending for the readers. Cath's anxiety is slowly decreasing, Cath's relationship with her family is improving, Cath has lots of friends, Levi stays by her side, and the fanfic book she has been making is finished. Maybe that's all the summary or review of the novel "Fangirl" from me, thank you for reading!
